Terrifying Tablescape

For Halloween, I concentrate my decorations towards the front door of our home.  It’s not like Christmas time with people frequently stopping by.  I figure by placing the majority of our Halloween items near our door the trick or treaters will get a kick out of it.  Here is the terrifying transformation of our formal dinning room:

To Get the Look:

  1. I removed {most} of the items adorning the center of the table.
  2. The table was then topped with two tablecloths – one sheer white with crystal balls to weight down the corners, the other a hand beaded high sheen silver silk {I have a story on this one, you can find it at the bottom}.
  3. Three cake stands were brought in and now showcase one skeleton and two mummy wrapped skulls with flashing lights.
  4. Set plates on table.  Because of the plates I had, and the quantity of each – 3 skeleton plates line each side, with square skull and cross bone plates on each end.
  5. Glasses are set by plates – again, only determined by what I have –  martini glasses on the sides, skull goblets at ends.
  6. One small skull is placed in each martini glass to ‘garnish.’
  7. A small tombstone is placed at the top of each plate – as you would a place card.
  8. The two silver pedestals formerly lifting up glass candle holders are brought back in to add height for two skulls.
  9. Mirrored finials are brought back in for their reflective qualities.
  10. Add cobwebs in where desired {I really don’t enjoy that part!}

Products were purchased two years ago at:

  • Skeleton: Deals, approximately $2
  • Flashing skulls: Big Lots, approximately $10 each
  • Skeleton Plates: Nell Hill’s, Briarcliff location {gift from mom and dad – thanks guys!}
  • Square Skull and Cross Bone Plates: Target
  • Small Skeletons for ‘Garnish’: Deals, $1 for a pack
  • Tombstones: Deals, $1 each
  • Cobweb: Deals, $1 per bag

How to replicate the chandelier can be found here.

Too bad you can’t join me for dinner to enjoy this terrifying tablescape!
